Irony 02/17/03

The news reports say that somewhere around eleven million people
demonstrated against a war with Iraq on the designated day. Considering
the population of planet earth that’s a miniscule turn out.

I don’t question their right to protest, but I seriously question their
wisdom. I have heard a lot of ranting and raving about going to war,
the same old peace signs, the same old slogans. What I have not heard
from any of these people is what do they think is going to happen to the
world if we don’t go to war with Iraq.

Do they think that Saddam is just going to go peacefully into the
sunset and live in harmony with us and his neighbors? Do they think
that he will not finish the horrible weapons he is developing?

Do France and Germany really think they’ll be safe from terrorism just
because they opposed the war in the United Nations? Not unless they
convert to radical Islam, and that’s no guarantee because they fight
each other about as much as they fight anybody else.

Do you people really think that when, not if ,but when he develops
biological, chemical and nuclear weapons that he won’t use them? That
he won’t blackmail the world? Do you honestly believe that of this
monster?

Letting this man develop catastrophic weapons is absolute insanity.
If someone out there has a plan or even a notion of a way to remedy this
situation without going to war and without endangering every human life
in the U.S.A., please let me know. And please don’t involve the United
Nations in your solution, because I have absolutely no faith in them,
and they have given me ample reason not to.

I am serious, I would love to hear your solution. You have my e-mail
address. After 9 -11 you would think that people would wake up and
realize the danger we are in from people like Saddam Hussein.
Osama Bin Ladin was responsible for the destruction of 9 -11 you say?
Well what is the difference between Saddam and Osama?
Saddam hates us just as bad and is just as dangerous, just as volatile
and just as deadly as Osama.

Are we going to give him a chance to prove it? I hope and pray not.
We should learn a lesson from Israel. Their cities are armed camps
where a suicide bomber can walk into a shopping center or a crowded bus
and blow himself up taking innocent Israeli citizens with him. He
doesn’t care if there are babies on board. All he cares about is his
hate.
Don’t think that the U.S.A. can’t become just as vulnerable as Israel.
The reticence to go after Saddam Hussein only strengthens
the terrorist movement.

Do you really think that Saddam Hussein doesn’t support the Al Qaida? Be
honest with yourself, do you believe in your heart of hearts, that given
a chance Saddam won’t wreak havoc on America?
By letting him off the hook we would be giving him the chance to kill
our children and destroy our country.

Think about it, do you really want to avoid war with Iraq at the cost of
having to wonder if some radical Islamic maniac is going to walk into a
kindergarten and blow up a school full of innocent children?

Do you want the U.S.A. to become like Israel? You think it can’t happen?
Well, you’d better think again.

There is however an irony here. If this nation does let Saddam and
people like him go unchecked and we do have to become the armed camp
that Israel has become, you people who are so anti-military, will be
kissing the feet of the men and women in uniform.

You’ll want them around 24-7. And that would truly be ironic.
