The Arrogance of Power

There is something really scary to me about having a Democrat as President and a Democrat House and Congress. If this happens, and in all likelihood it will, I think we're going to see arrogance like we've never seen before in elected officials.

I'll give you an example. Almost three quarters of the American people are in favor of drilling for oil to help ease the price of fuel, but the Democrat leadership of the House and Senate refuse to even let it come up for an up or down vote, in essence bypassing the wishes of the people they're sworn to serve and in their arrogance saying, "We don't care what the American people want, we're going to do just as we please".

The majority of the American people want something meaningful done to stop the ingress of millions of illegal and potentially dangerous aliens across our border but Congress turns a deaf ear to our wishes.

The Democrats are so sold out to the far left-wing of the party, which is small, but rich, that if they control both houses of Congress and the White House, we probably won't know this country in four years.

They'll pack the courts with ultra-liberal judges, they'll downsize the military and decimate our intelligence services and believe me people, we won't have time to fix it again.

They'll cater and kowtow to the United Nations, the worthless, anti-American, toothless debating society that has been falling apart for fifty years.

They'll raise taxes on people who would have otherwise put the money into creating jobs.

They'll grow the government to unsustainable proportions as new bureaucracy after new bureaucracy is created to oversee the new give away programs they'll advance.

They will ruin healthcare in America. It may take a while, but after the government gets its hands on something they'll eventually screw it up. How'd you like waiting for six weeks to get an x-ray or waiting all day just to get in to a doctor's office.

Did anybody ever stop and wonder why socialism has so miserably failed everywhere on the planet it's been tried?

There are many reasons, but in my humble opinion, there are two basic ones.

First of all, it discourages creativity and productivity. Why work when you can make more on the government dole than you can at an entry-level job? Why sweat when you can just sit back and get free healthcare and a check from the big sow every month?

Secondly, socialism becomes so top heavy that it can't possibly last. It always turns into totalitarianism with the few at the top of the food chain living like kings while the folks at the bottom scrounge around for what's left over.

And to maintain their lofty perches, it takes muscle to keep the common people in line and eventually develops into a "midnight knock on the door" type situation for those who disagree with the high and mighty and who are bold enough to talk about it in public.

Do you think this can't happen in America? Take another look, my friend.

There is a quote by an American socialist named Norman Thomas that speaks volumes. Thomas was a six-time US Presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America. He said, "The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."

Scary.

There are families on the welfare program that have lived off the government for three generations.

The illegitimate birth rate among the African-American community is around seventy percent. Who pays for the care of those babies? Certainly not the absentee father.

Al Gore and his ilk fly around in private jets, live in huge mansions that use monstrous amounts of electricity, ride in gas-guzzling SUVs, and they own yachts while constantly telling us that we're ruining the planet with our lifestyle.

Have you ever heard of the Fairness Doctrine? Nancy Pelosi has and she wants to put it in force. It may sound like a good thing but it is nothing less than an attempt by the Speaker of the House and her cronies to shut down criticism from any media personality who disagrees with them.

The sad truth is folks, it is already happening. The Democrats already have the majority in the House and Senate, and if they take the White House… watch out, America. The worst is yet to come.
