Downright
Dangerous
Nancy
Pelosi, Harry Reid and their compatriots are all that stand
in the way of America harvesting the plentiful oil reserves
we have in Alaska, the lower forty-eight and offshore.
Ms.
Pelosi claims she's "trying to save the planet," but
I submit to you that her reasons are more numerous and devious
than that. She is beholden to the "save the whales"
and "kill the babies" crowd, the green weenies who
want to see America driving Fred Flintstone cars, the do-nothing,
"do as we say, not as we do," crowd of Al Gore liberals
with nothing to offer us but global warming and pipe dreams.
Last
week, Ms. Pelosi and the Democrats in the House thought that
getting an early start on their five-week vacation was more
important than doing anything about oil exploration, much to
the outcry of a group of Republicans who stayed in the House
after it was adjourned in a vocal protest.
What
Pelosi and her ilk are doing is not only detrimental to the
country it is downright dangerous. Every year we put hundreds
of billions of dollars into the pockets of tinhorn dictators
like Hugo Chavez and despots in the Middle East who hate our
guts.
And
she wants to tap into the National Oil Reserve, which, in my
humble opinion is dangerous too. The Middle East could literally
explode at any time and we would need all the oil we can lay
our hands on just to survive.
In essence
the policies of Pelosi and Reid are financing our own demise.
We are supporting the very people who want nothing more than
to reduce the United States of America to a smoking pile of
rubble.
Pelosi
is from San Francisco, and though I'm sure there are sensible
people in the Golden Gate city who vehemently disagree with
her, I seriously doubt if there's enough of them to vote her
out of office, but Reid is from Nevada and I must say, with
all due respect to the good people of that state, I'm a little
surprised that they let themselves be represented by, Harry
"the war is lost, and the surge is not working" Reid.
If you
ask either of them why oil prices took a dip a while back they
would probably tell you it was a reduction in use and I agree
that was part of it, but did you happen to notice that the dip
happened right after President Bush announced a lift on offshore
drilling by the executive branch, needing only Congress' approval
for the drilling to begin?
Even
a threat of producing our own oil sends a tremor through the
Middle Eastern oil industry and the speculators who bet on the
price continuing to go up.
Why
should we send 700 billion dollars overseas every year when
we could keep the lions share right here in the USA? Can you
imagine what all out petroleum production would do for the economy
of this country?
Now
before you cherry pickers get your poison keyboards out let
me say this.
I am
all for finding alternative fuels, if we never had to pump another
gallon of gas it would make me ecstatic. I'm very much in favor
of nuclear power and love T. Boone Pickens' great idea about
wind power and natural gas.
But
in the meantime, unless you've found some way to mount an energy-producing
windmill on top of your car, you've got to drive to work next
week and it will be years before Mr. Pickens' idea reaches fruition.
In the
meantime we have to have oil and why in the name of sanity should
we pay terrorist states for it when we can get it right here
in our own country.
All
Pelosi and Reid have come up with is to investigate the speculators
and try to levy a windfall profit tax on the oil companies and
give the money to poor families to help pay for their energy
needs.
Sounds
good in the New York Times, but down here where the rubber meets
the road and speaking in the cowboy logic vernacular, it ain't
nothing but another socialist idea and the bottom line is that
it won't produce a single drop of oil.
Ms.
Pelosi, when you became Speaker of The House you complained
that the airplane they let you use wasn't big enough. Now that's
real green talk if I've ever heard it.
I think
they should give you another plane. How about a piper cub?
Pray
for our troops
What
do you think?
God
Bless America
